Nowadays most people know what the majority of HYIPs are. Ponzi schemes which pay old investors with the money of new investors. No need to say that this can not work for ever and that such a scheme can collapse at any time. But still millions of dollars are moved in this industry every day. Why? Thats the question I want to answer together with you!
I think the basic reason why people still invest in HYIPs is the greed. We want more and more money. Most people can not get enough of it. Money is a magic thing. It is something very good and at the same time very bad. Very good because it enables you to live your dream. Bad because it can literally ruin your life. People play HYIPs because they hope that they will one day make the move which will make them rich. Very unlikely to happen in my opinion.
But there is also a type of people who invest in HYIPs to find one of the rare legit high yield opportunities. They invest in all real looking companies and hope they have finally found the right one. I have to say it is very unlikely to find a legit one, but of couse it is not a bad strategy in HYIP world. We all know that high quality programs mostly live very long. Is there any legit program out there? Yes. One program in 7 years: Uinvest! But thats not the topic here… .
Another type of people who play HYIPs are the same people which do sport betting on a regular basis: The gamblers! They like to risk money for fun. It is like a hobby for them to jump from one HYIP to another, hoping they will win. I think those are the people who bring a basic stability to the HYIP world. They provide a basic cashflow which gets toped up by the people who search for legit opportunities.
The last type of people are the ones who really like to do forbidden and illegal things – Canada for example. In some countries it is not allowed to do anything HYIP related (the right decision in my opinion). But still people from such countries play HYIPs. Some even operate HYIPs from there. Why they are doing it? I think most people like the risk. They just need it and can not live without it. We all find forbidden things to be very interesting, it starts from childhood.
So what type of HYIP player are you? Or are you even a type of HYIP player I do not know about, which got not mentioned here? I hav to say I am a mix of two types.
